CAHIR GAA NOTES

Sympathy

The club would like to extend our condolences to the Cummins family (Cahir and Galbally), on the recent passing of Mrs Elizabeth (Lilly) Cummins, our thoughts are with the Cummins family at this sad time for them.

Football and Hurling Awards

Colaiste Dun Iascaigh sports awards were held last week in the school. The football award went to Brendan Donaghy and the hurling award to Ryan Murphy, both from our club, well done to the lads and all the award winners on the night.

Junior Hurling Championship

Goatenbridge was the venue last Saturday for our hurlers who played Ballylooby/Castlegrace in the first round of the championship, ending in a heavy loss for Cahir, to the players it’s onwards and upwards from here on in. The Team and scorers were as follows: Keelan Hickey, Kieran O’Dwyer, Noel O’Gorman, Oisin Moloney, Ger Hally, Eoin Donaghy, Aaron Murphy, Conor Casey, Dean Lonergan, Ryan Murphy (0-3), Aidan Casey, Johnny McMahon (0-1), Daire O’Brien (1-0), Ciaran O’Donnell, Johnny B. COUNTY CAMOGIE

Hard luck to our two club girls Orla McEniry and Roisin Howard who were part of the Tipperary team who lost out narrowly to Cork in the Munster Final last Saturday in Cashel.

Ladies football

Our ladies intermediate team played Galtee Rovers in the county league final last Sunday evening in Duneske and came out on top with a fine win; score Cahir 5-10 Galtee Rovers 0-09, well done to all involved.
