U18 Ladies

Cahir u 18 5-2 peak villa

Scorers Leah Fitzgerald & Christina Delaney 2 a piece and Erin O Regan 1. History was made in the club today as cahir park u18 ladies lined out in duneske against Peake villa for the first time . the game started at a quick pace with peake Villa take first attack but a quick counter attack saw cahir break up the field through Anna barlow who found Leah, before hitting a cracker to open cahirs account on the 4th min . from the kick off cahir applied the pressure from aisling Burke that found Leah to get her 2nd in the 6min. As both teams settled peake villa started to give the cahir defence a tough time but Emma Casey , Loren ward and Molly Coffey stood strong . just before the half hour mark cahir got their 3rd as Erin broke down the right and crossed by the back post to find Christina who calmly slotted the ball home. But it wasn't all cahir's way when from the kick off peake villa put some good play together to beat Emma Maher making the half time score 3-1.

2nd half started with cahir on the back foot but Emma in goals pulling off great saves from a few 1v1's . cahir added to the score through Erin who ran the villa defence ragged all game and got her well deserved goal. Villa did not let us have it all our way as they pushed to get back into the game and got a goal with 20mins to go . The cahir girls weren't finished yet as they battled hard in the middle of the park to get Aisling away who found Christina to help her to get her 2nd of the game . The game finished 5-2 a good start for our young ladies who's hard work showed in their performance and will set up for an interesting season.

U13 Division 1

Cahir Park B 4 - 5 Mullinahone

Mullinahone went into a 4 goal lead in the first half but Cahir pulled one back just before the break. Another goal two minutes into the second half to make it 4 - 2 and a comeback was on. Mullinahone responded with a fifth however Cahir Park never gave up and came back with two goals in the last 10 minutes to set up a tense finish but just couldn't force the equaliser. Great effort from both teams.

U14 Girls Cahir Park 1 kilenaule 2.

Duneske saw a great display of commitment today as the cahir u14 team took on kilenaule with only a team of 9 players against 11. The girls saw themselves down 1-0 in the first 16 minutes of the match with a goal from kilenaule, but counter attacked just 2 minutes later by a great assist from Emily Kirby who with skill and speed created a brilliant opportunity for Lilly Brown to score an equalizing goal in the 18th minute. Cahir went on to stay level throughout the first half with great performances by Aoife O Neill, Holly Keating, Ava Conway and Katie O Conner who with determination kept fighting at every opportunity to defend our goal keeper Abbey Noonan. In the second half the girls were unfortunate when kilenaule scored again in the 55th minute of the game but never gave up with Niamh Costigan flying around the pitch the help out where ever she could. Well done girls ye played a great game and should be proud.
