GOOD DISPLAY BY INTERMEDIATE HURLERS
Cahir hurlers gave a good account of themselves in the first game of the year, when they played a very
strong Moycarkey/Borris team in Golden on Sunday last. Cahir were short a number of regular players
but the young lads who filled in did very well. The team and scorers were as follows; Brian Enright, John
B O?Brien, Derek Davis, Brendan Donaghy, Paddy O?Flaherty (0-1), Aidan Casey, Tom O?Gorman, Benny
Hickey (0-4), Ger Hally, Ryan Murphy (0-2), Edmund Meehan, Liam Howard (0-1), Paul Tuohy, Johnny
McMahon (0-1), Shane Murphy, Subs Used: Aaron Murphy, Sean O?Connor.
The draw the joker was held in The Punters Rest last Sunday night. John Kendrick?s name was pulled
rom the drum but the joker was not turned. Denise English, Simon McEniry and Kieran O?Dwyer won
the other prizes. This week the jackpot is ?10,200 and the draw will be held in Cahir House Hotel on this
Sunday night at 9.30pm. Only 12 cards remain on the board.
Hard luck to the Colaiste girls who were defeated in the All Ireland final of the Junior Football ?A? on
Saturday by St. Ciarans from Tyrone.
Congratulations to Conor Cashman who was a member of the South Under 16 hurling team which won
the Inter-divisional competition on Saturday in Dr. Morris Park. Congratulations also to Tadgh Howard
who was a selector.
